Using the Software Client (SUS)
A more complete FAQ for the SUS software client is pending and will be based on user feedback. In the meantime use the Support Forum for further questions.

  • What is the SUS?
  • What are the benefits of using this instead of a browser?
  • Where can I get it?
  • Is it free?
  • Is it Spyware or Adware?
  • What is the SUS?
It is a Windows based program that you can download and use to read the forums online and offline.

What are the benefits of using this instead of a browser?
It is much quicker than using a web browser to view the forums (although our forum engine is no slouch when it comes to a web client either!). Users with low bandwidth (either dial-up or mobile connection) may find it essential. It also includes numerous other functions which are not really possible in a web browser, as well as an enhanced message editor, animated map view, etc.

    Where can I get it?
    It is available from
    sus.ftlog.org.

    Is it free?
Alas no, it's only available for donating members, though you can try it for free for a while. The SUS is such a revelation compared to existing forum reading methods, that we think most people that like it would be prepared to pay for it to fund it's development. The bulk of the money actually goes towards funding the free nature of the ftlog forum network as a whole though, so in many respects the SUS could be looked upon as an added freebie!

    Is it Spyware or Adware?
No! We don't believe you should be tricked into installing software you do not want! Therefore, when you download and install the SUS - that's exactly what you've got, no more - no less, and certainly no spyware or adware!
